How to read odds — three formats

Example 1 — Team A wins (stake ৳500)
The same value in three formats: Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125. If you win, you get back ৳1,125 (৳625 profit + ৳500 original stake). If you lose, ৳500 is gone.
Example 2 — Team B is the favourite (stake ৳500)
Favourite's odds: Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400. A negative American figure means how much stake is needed to make ৳100 profit — here ৳400. A ৳500 stake returns ৳625 (৳125 profit).
The decimal format is the simplest — multiply the stake by the odds to get the total return. Most bettors in Bangladesh prefer decimal odds because the calculation is straightforward.
